"Think Global- Act Local"
Week 7
The possible solutions to the impacts of climate change on natural and human systems involve reducing energy use and using non-carbon forms of energy, i.e. renewables. However, continued anthropogenic climate change continue to impact, as there is a lag in the response to the increased emissions we've produced since the industrial revolution.
In Britain this will mean more catastrophic weather events, and a climate that has warmer, wetter winters and hotter drier summers. We have to adapt our living to this through sustainable construction. An excellent example of this is the Eden Project near St Austell in Cornwall.
As the ethos of the Eden Project near St Austell in Cornwall is sustainability, the organisation has gone to great lengths to show sustainability in its building design and everyday running of the site, e.g. insulation, natural light, energy generation, water harvesting and use of recycled materials.
